Install latest kernel from experimental repo to sid

To install kernel from experimental repo in Debian Sid, following:

– Add experimental repo by add line:

deb http://ftp.debian.org/debian experimental main

to file:

/etc/apt/sources.list

check it:

  # grep experimental /etc/apt/sources.list

  deb http://ftp.debian.org/debian experimental main

then make file “/etc/apt/preferences.d/experimental” such as:

# cat /etc/apt/preferences.d/experimental
Package: linux-base
Pin: release a=experimental
Pin-Priority: 800

– Finally, update system and install kernel

# apt-get update
# apt-get install linux-image-2.6.37
